Extra Water Meter Program

Do you ever . . . . Water your lawn, garden or flowers? Add water to your swimming pool? Use any water outside of your home? If you answer "YES" to any of the above questions, you will want know about this program. MUB customers which are paying wastewater charges can come to our office and sign up for an Extra Water Meter, also called a "Sprinkler Meter". Our regular fee for installing a 3/4" water meter is $250.00 . But now you can have a "sprinkler meter" installed for only $150.00 . There will be no wastewater charges for this water meter, which if you use enough water outside your home, you could pay for the installation fee by saving on your wastewater bill, sometimes in less than one year. MUB will not assess a System Development Charge (SDC) fee for the 3/4" meter that is connected to an existing tap (same connection point). However, if a customer wishes the connection in a different location or an increase in size, this will require an additional tap and will be assessed a SDC fee.
